1. Applicability

These terms apply to any use of FactuurMakenOnline.nl ("the Service"). By creating an account, you agree to these terms.

2. The service

FactuurMakenOnline.nl provides online invoicing software for freelancers and SME entrepreneurs, including a free plan and paid subscriptions (Starter, Pro). Features include invoice creation and management, time tracking, customer management, product catalogues, WeFact data import, bank transaction matching via GoCardless, and a developer API. We strive for maximum availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.

3. Subscriptions and payment

  • The free plan is free of charge and remains free, with a limit of 5 invoices per month.
  • Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically until you cancel.
  • You can cancel at any time via your account settings; cancellation takes effect immediately, without a refund for the current period.
  • Payments are processed via Mollie. We do not store payment card details. Mollie is also used to process payments via the optional payment button on customer invoices.
  • Each plan includes a file storage quota: Free 100 MB, Starter 1 GB, Pro 5 GB. Only file uploads (e.g. invoice attachments, receipts) count towards this quota; invoices and customer records do not.

4. User responsibilities

You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter or import (invoices, VAT rates, customer data) and for complying with your own tax and administrative obligations. FactuurMakenOnline.nl is a tool, not a substitute for bookkeeping or tax advice.

5. WeFact import

The Service allows you to import your existing data (customers, invoices, products) from WeFact using your WeFact API key. Your WeFact API key is stored encrypted and is used exclusively to retrieve your own data. You remain responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the imported data. The import function is idempotent: re-running it will not create duplicate records for existing customers or invoices (matching is done on e-mail address and invoice number).

6. Bank connection (GoCardless / Nordigen)

The Service optionally allows you to connect your bank account via GoCardless (Nordigen), a licensed PSD2 payment institution. The connection is strictly read-only: we retrieve transaction data only; we cannot initiate any payments. By connecting your bank account you grant GoCardless access to your account information in accordance with their own terms. The bank connection expires after 90 days, after which re-authorisation is required. You can revoke the connection at any time in your account settings.

7. SMS notifications

The Service may send you SMS notifications (e.g. payment reminders, two-factor authentication) via Twilio. This feature is currently in development. When available, you can manage your notification preferences in your account settings. Standard SMS rates from your carrier may apply.

8. Developer API

Access to the FactuurMakenOnline REST API is available via personal API tokens, which you can create in your account settings. You are responsible for keeping your API tokens confidential. We reserve the right to revoke tokens and to apply rate limits to protect the stability of the Service. API documentation is available at developer.factuurmakenonline.nl.

9. Accountant marketplace

Profiles of accountants in our directory are partly sourced from public records and can be claimed by the accountant concerned. FactuurMakenOnline.nl is not a party to the agreement between you and an accountant you find via the directory, and is not responsible for the quality of their services.

10. Liability

FactuurMakenOnline.nl is not liable for indirect damages, loss of profit, or damages resulting from incorrectly entered or imported data, bank matching errors, or temporary unavailability of third-party services (GoCardless, Twilio, Mollie). Our liability is in all cases limited to the amount you have paid in subscription fees in the preceding 12 months.

11. Cancellation and termination

You may delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend accounts in the event of misuse or breach of these terms.

12. Changes

We may amend these terms from time to time. We will notify you by e-mail of any substantial changes.
